Special note from the president of ILCoChess:

Illinois State Scholastic Chess Championship (K-8) bids for 2010

Bids are to be presented to the Co-Chess Board on Saturday March 7th  at the Co-Chess Board meeting held in conjunction with the State Championship in Bloomington, IL..
(The State tournament for 2010 is scheduled to be held in the upstate area. Downstate bids will only be considered if no acceptable upstate bid is received.)

Bids must include:

  1. Name of sponsor
  2. Location, space
  3. Dates
  4. Financial data (entry fees, co-chess fees)
  5. Chief tournament director.

Please notify Co-Chess President Sandra Machaj at Sandy@ilcochess.com  or 630-231-6245 by March 1st  if you are planning to present so that you may be added to the agenda. A copy of the bid should be forwarded to S.Machaj prior to the meeting.  For questions about the bidding process, contact Sandra Machaj.

This website is intended to promote and develop Scholastic Chess in the state of Illinois.  This site will be used to disseminate information and post news of chess related stories. 

 I am accepting any chess news or interesting games you may have had over the last few months.  If you submit it you may find it posted as the web site progresses.


Organizers can start to input their events immediately.  If you have a tournament planned for this 2006-2007 school year please enter the information by using the Request Scholastic Tournament Date Form.  Your information will be posted on our calendar ASAP after review.
